Tips & Advice Here are some Tips and Advice that you may find useful in your New career opportunity:-
1) If you get chosen for a Casting, ALWAYS get there at least 20 mins before your appointment, you should enter c15 mins before your given appointment time, make sure you have enough time to compose yourself when you arrive, review what the casting is actually for and hopefully chat to a few other Castees on their way out of the casting and enquire what format the casting took and what they required etc, maybe you can get an advantage before you are even seen and also gain some new contacts in the business as well !!!!. 2) Always be Clean, Fresh and of a Good appearence, make sure you smell nice !!!!! 3) Be Confident and Friendly at all times, remember this business is about Networking. 4) If you really want the part, it is not advisable to threaten or intimidate other casting prospectees to leave !!! 5) You do not need any real experience or any extra qualifications, just the will and the desire to succeed. 6) No experience is necessary but you must be willing to take instructions and carry them out without deviation. 7) Depending on the story line, being an extra usually involves wearing some kind of costume, always give your true clothes sizes to the relevant department. 8) Never look directly into the camera lens when on a shoot, unless otherwise directed to. 9) Always stand on your given marker when told to, on a shoot. 10) Be prepared for a long day - A shooting day can last for 9hrs in a day with an additional hour for lunch. Sometimes an extra will be required for the entirety of the shoot whilst on other occasions it may only be for a half day or just a few hours. 11) The shooting day often begins early in the morning. Being an extra usually means wearing an outfit supplied by the Costume Department and maybe having make-up applied. This often means that the 'call' time can be very early. 12) The film process sometimes involves a lot of hanging about waiting for scenes to be set up etc. Whilst production companies will always try to provide a warm and dry waiting area for you, it is always advisable to wear warm clothing, gloves, hat etc. 13) Continuity extras - These are extras that repeatedly appear over a number of scenes or episodes as the same character. 14) It is often an advantage to give details of any hobbies or interests you have to the casting agency. Sometimes film companies want people to bring their own items, such as a certain type of car, hat or even musical instruments. 15) Starstuck!!!??? dont go chasing autographs or pictures of well known artistes when you are on set, turn mobiles off , be silent, still and patient.
